About Rankift, and why it reads like an incident log

We build for the person who gets the message when a link goes missing. The writing here is blunt on purpose.

What we run

Rankift sells backlink data through a REST API and a free explorer. Responses are JSON. You can look up backlinks, referring domains, anchors, top pages and a 0 to 100 Domain Rating for any domain.

The data is ours. It comes from our own crawler and our own index: 181,132,097 domains, 2,774,625,913 domain-to-domain links and about 798.5 billion backlinks.

Our Domain Rating is round(100 times log of referring domains plus one, divided by log of 2 times 10 to the seventh). It is a log scale and our own metric, comparable in spirit to Ahrefs DR or Moz DA, but not the same number.

How we write and what we promise

We tell you what is stale

The index refreshes about once a month. A link built last week may be missing, and every page that matters says so.

We price per call

One credit is $0.0001. There is no subscription and no monthly minimum, and sign-up gives $100 of credit with no card.

We say when to use something else

For keywords, rank tracking and a daily-fresh crawl, Ahrefs and Semrush are the fuller products. We cover link data cheaply.

We do not invent proof

No customer quotes, no awards, no made-up statistics. Examples are labelled as examples, and rival numbers on these pages are hypothetical. Simple.

Why an on-call voice

Link work looks calm until it does not. A donor vanishes on a Friday, a rival launches on a Monday, and traffic bends the week after a Google core update. Those are incidents.

So we write them up like incidents: impact, detection, cause, action items. It forces a question that dashboards let you skip, namely what exactly will someone do when this number moves.

The pages on this site follow that habit. The core update post-mortem is a template you can paste into your own wiki, and the spam links triage page is a decision tree, because that is what the situation needs. Short and practical.

Who it is for, and who it is not

It fits in-house SEOs, small technical teams and agencies who already keep a spreadsheet and a cron job. A Python file and a Slack webhook are the whole setup.

It is wrong for anyone who wants keyword research, rank tracking or a daily-fresh crawl. Use Ahrefs or Semrush for that, and use us beside them if per-call link data helps your reporting.

Sign-in is Google only. Top-ups are USDT on TRC-20 from the account page.

What we will not do

We will not promise rankings. Nobody can, and a link number moving is not a ranking moving, whatever a vendor chart suggests.

We will not claim a link profile is untouchable or immune to updates. We will not name third-party sources for our data, because there are none to name: the index is ours, and its monthly refresh is the main limit you should plan around. Plan for it.

We will not hide the price. One credit is $0.0001, so a thousand calls at one credit each cost ten cents, and the arithmetic stays visible on every recipe page.

Where to start

Pick the incident you fear most. If it is a missing link, read the lost links runbook. If it is a rival, see the competitor alert rules.

Everything else follows from a snapshot you take this week, and the weekly diff recipe shows the code.
